In The Court of Appeals Seventh District of Texas at Amarillo No. 07-17-00049-CV IN RE LONNIE KADE WELSH, RELATOR ORIGINAL PROCEEDING FOR WRIT OF MANDAMUS February 16, 2017 MEMORANDUM OPINION Before QUINN, C.J., and CAMPBELL and PIRTLE, JJ. Relator, Lonnie Kade Welsh, proceeding pro se, filed a petition for writ of mandamus in the above-referenced cause. By letter dated January 27, 2017, this court advised Welsh that the required filing fee of $155 did not accompany the filing of his petition for writ of mandamus. See TEX. R. APP. P. 12.1(b). Said letter directed him to pay the required filing fee or, in lieu thereof, file a statement of inability to afford payment of court costs, by February 6, 2017, or the proceeding would be subject to dismissal without further notice. See TEX. R. APP. P. 20.1(c), 42.3(c). To date, Welsh has not paid the filing fee, communicated to the clerk of this court that he is presumed indigent under Rule 20.1, or sought leave to proceed without the payment of costs. See TEX. R. APP. P. 20.1. Because Welsh failed to comply with a requirement of the appellate rules and a notice from the clerk requiring action within a specified time, we dismiss his petition for writ of mandamus. See TEX. R. APP. P. 42.3(c). Per Curiam 2
