On April 9, 2003, this court ordered appellant to show cause in writing by April 24, 2003 why this appeal should not be dismissed for want of prosecution. On April 28, 2003, appellant's counsel filed a motion for extension of time to file a brief and letter requesting the record. The motion and request were sent by a private express mail carrier on April 25, 2003. Appellant did not timely respond. Tex. R. App. P. 9.2(b)(1). The appeal is dismissed for want of prosecution. See Tex. R. App. P. 38.8(a)(1), 42.3(b). Costs of appeal are taxed against appellant.
