EDGAR MOLINA, Appellant
V.
THE STATE OF TEXAS, Appellee
.............................................................
On Appeal from the 195th Judicial District Court
Dallas County, Texas
Trial Court Cause No. F06-50426-N
.............................................................
MEMORANDUM OPINION
Before Justices Bridges, Richter, and Mazzant
Edgar Molina was convicted, following the adjudication of his guilt, of possession with intent to delivery methamphetamine in an amount of four grams or more but less than 200 grams. Sentence of twelve years' imprisonment was imposed in open court on May 23, 2008. No motion for new trial was filed; therefore, appellant's notice of appeal was due by Monday, June 23, 2008. See Tex. R. App. P. 26.2(a)(1). Appellant's pro se notice of appeal was mailed on July 28, 2008 and filed on August 6, 2008. See Tex. R. App. P. 9.2(b). Because the notice of appeal is untimely, we have no jurisdiction over the appeal. See Slaton v. State, 981 S.W.2d 208, 210 (Tex. Crim. App. 1998) (per curiam); Boyd v. State, 971 S.W.2d 603, 605-06 (Tex. App.-Dallas 1998, no pet.).
We dismiss the appeal for want of jurisdiction.
