Serial: 136957 IN THE SUPREME COURT OF MISSISSIPPI No. 89-R-99026-SCT IN RE: AUTHORIZATION OF COURT ANNEXED MEDIATION IN CHANCERY, CIRCUIT AND COUNTY COURTS ORDER This matter is before the Court sitting en banc on the Court’s own motion for amendment to the Court Annexed Mediation Rules for Civil Litigation. After due consideration, the Court finds that the proposed amendment should be approved. IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that Rule X(B) of the Court Annexed Mediation Rules for Civil Litigation is amended to read as follows, underscore indicating the amended wording: X. ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS CONCERNING MEDIATION The following procedures will be utilized for the conduct of administrative functions necessary to make mediators available as needed for the referral of cases... B. Administration will be conducted through a committee designated the Court Annexed Mediation Committee which will be composed of members appointed by the Supreme Court. The number of members shall be at the discretion of the Court. Three members shall be nominated by the Mississippi Bar. The members will serve three year terms, expiring on December 31 of third year of service. [Amended effective January 11, 2007, to increase the term of committee members to three years.] IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Clerk of this Court shall spread this Order upon the minutes of the Court and shall forward a true certified copy hereof to West Publishing Company for publication in the next edition of the Mississippi Rules of Court and in the Southern Reporter, Second Series, (Mississippi Edition).
