MEMORANDUM.
Respondent appeals as of right from the trial court order terminating her parental rights to
the minor child pursuant to MCL 712A.19b(3)(b)(i), (c)(i), and (g). We affirm.
We review the trial court’s findings in termination proceedings for clear error. MCR
3.977(J); In re Miller, 433 Mich 331, 337; 445 NW2d 161 (1989). In this case, the trial court did
not clearly err in finding that the grounds for termination were established by clear and
convincing evidence. MCR 3.977(J); Miller, supra at 337. There existed clear and convincing
evidence that respondent sexually abused her son, that she failed to admit to such abuse, and that
she failed to benefit from the services offered. Further, at the time of termination, respondent
had yet to obtain and maintain a legal source of income and independent housing. Indeed, she
continued to rely on her father for the basic necessities of life. Consequently, the trial court did
not err when it terminated respondent’s parental rights pursuant to MCL 712A.19b(3)(b)(i),
(c)(i), and (g).
Further, the evidence failed to establish that termination of respondent’s parental rights
was clearly not in the child’s best interests. MCL 712A.19b(5); In re Trejo, 462 Mich 341, 354;
612 NW2d 407 (2000). The child needed stability and a safe and emotionally nurturing
environment to facilitate his continued growth and development.
Affirmed.
