STATE OF MICHIGAN COURT OF APPEALS LORI ROWLISON, UNPUBLISHED December 3, 2002 Petitioner-Appellee, v No. 229733 Shiawassee Circuit Court LC No. 00-005192-PH JAMES POUILLON, Respondant-Appellant. Before: Whitbeck, C.J., and Hood and Kelly, JJ. MEMORANDUM. Respondent appeals as of right from an order denying his motion to set aside a personal protection order (“PPO”). We dismiss as moot. An issue is moot if an event has occurred rendering it impossible for this Court to grant relief to a party even if it should decide in favor of that party. Jackson v Thompson McCully, 239 Mich App 482, 483; 608 NW2d 531 (2000). Because the PPO at issue expired on July 17, 2001, and another PPO has not been issued, this Court cannot grant relief even if it should decide in respondent’s favor. Dismissed. /s/ William C. Whitbeck /s/ Harold Hood /s/ Kirsten Frank Kelly -1-
