STATE OF MICHIGAN COURT OF APPEALS PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN, UNPUBLISHED October 20, 2000 Plaintiff-Appellee, v RONALD D. JOHNSON, No. 209660 Livingston Circuit Court LC No. 97-009732-FH Defendant-Appellant. Before: Doctoroff, P.J., and O’Connell and Wilder, JJ. O’CONNELL, J. (concurring). I concur with the result that the majority reaches in this case. I write separately to state that the prosecutor’s statement that persons who enjoy touching children for sexual gratification as “pedophiles” was proper. The prosecutor merely defined the term and suggested that such individuals do not have a “normal mindset.” This understanding of pedophilia is common, and the prosecutor’s comment fit the facts of this case. /s/ Peter D. O’Connell
