STATE OF MICHIGAN COURT OF APPEALS __________________________________________ In the Matter of JESSICA MCKASSON, NICHOLAS PIERSON and DAVID PIERSON, Minors DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES, UNPUBLISHED July 29, 1997 Petitioner-Appellee, v No. 189572 Wayne Probate Court LC No. 92-300746 MELISSA KAYE PIERSON and REX ALLEN PIERSON, Respondent-Appellants. Before: Jansen, P.J., and Wahls and P.R. Joslyn*, JJ. MEMORANDUM. Respondents appeal as of right from the probate court order terminating their parental rights to their children, Nicholas Pierson and David Pierson, and to respondent Melissa Kay Pierson’s child, Jessica Marie McKasson, under MCL 712A.19b(3)(b)(i), (b)(ii), (c)(i) and (g); MSA 28.3178(598.19b)(3)(b)(i), (b)(ii), (c)(i) and (g). We affirm. The probate court did not clearly err in finding that the statutory grounds for termination were established by clear and convincing evidence. MCR 5.974(I); In re Miller, 433 Mich 331, 337; 445 NW2d 161 (1989). Further, respondents failed to show that termination of their parental rights was clearly not in the children’s best interests. In re Hall-Smith, 222 Mich App 470, 473; ___ NW2d ___ (1997). Thus, the probate court did not err in terminating respondents’ parental rights to the children. MCL 712A.19b(5); MSA 27.3178(598.19b)(5). * Circuit judge, sitting on the Court of Appeals by assignment. -1 Affirmed. /s/ Kathleen Jansen /s/ Myron H. Wahls /s/ Patrick R. Joslyn -2
