Plaintiff-Appellee,
v
No. 184908
Genesee Circuit
LC No. 94-050197-FH
JANAVAS LAZON BOLDS,
Defendant-Appellant.
Before: Michael J. Kelly, P.J., and Smolenski and W.J. Giovan,* JJ.
MEMORANDUM.
Defendant pleaded guilty to possession of less than twenty-five grams of cocaine, MCL
333.7403(2)(a)(v); MSA 14.15(7403)(2)(a)(v), and was sentenced to eighteen to forty-eight months’
imprisonment. He appeals as of right. We affirm. This case has been decided without oral argument
pursuant to MCR 7.214(A).
Defendant argues that the trial court failed to sufficiently articulate its reasons for the sentence
imposed. We disagree. The trial court specifically cited the sentencing guidelines before imposing a
sentence within those guidelines. This satisfied the articulation requirement. In re Dana Jenkins, 438
Mich 364, 375-376; 475 NW2d 279 (1991); People v Bailey (On Remand), 218 Mich App 645,
646-647 ; ___ NW2d ___(1996); People v Lawson, 195 Mich App 76, 77; 489 NW2d 147 (1992).
Affirmed.
