R.S. 33:2501(E)(1) vests appellate jurisdiction in the district court, the court of appeal lacks appellate jurisdiction over this matter. Monroe Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board v. Brown, 23-907 (La. 10/17/23), 371 So. 3d 448; Miazza v. City of Mandeville, 10-304 (La. 5/21/10), 34 So. 3d 849. It is within this court’s discretion to convert the improper appeal to an application for supervisory writ. La. Const. art. V, § 10(A); Stelluto v. Stelluto, 05-74 (La. 6/29/05), 914 So. 2d 34. Accordingly, the appeal is hereby converted to a writ and will be reviewed under this court’s supervisory jurisdiction when briefing is complete.
