IN THE COURT OF APPEALS OF IOWA No. 2-1162 / 12-0823 Filed February 13, 2013 KENDALL M. HAMILTON, Applicant-Appellant, vs. STATE OF IOWA, Respondent-Appellee. ________________________________________________________________ Appeal from the Iowa District Court for Polk County, Randy V. Hefner, Judge. Kendall Hamilton appeals from the denial of his application for postconviction relief. AFFIRMED. Mark C. Smith, State Appellate Defender, Rachel C. Regenold and David A. Adams and Rachel C. Regenold, Assistant Appellate Defenders, for appellant. Thomas J. Miller, Attorney General, Darrel Mullins, Assistant Attorney General, John P. Sarcone, County Attorney, and Stephan K. Bayens, Assistant County Attorney, for appellee. Considered by Doyle, P.J., and Mullins and Bower, JJ. 2 DOYLE, P.J. Kendall Hamilton appeals from the district court s ruling denying his application for postconviction relief following his guilty plea. He claims his trial counsel was ineffective because she failed to file a motion to suppress illegally obtained evidence and to adequately explain the consequences of the guilty plea to him. We have carefully reviewed the record, the briefs of the parties, and the district court s well-reasoned ruling. Upon our de novo review, we find any further discussion of these issues by our court would add little to and not change the disposition of this case. We affirm the district court s ruling denying Hamilton s application for postconviction relief. See Iowa R. App. P. 6.1203(a), (d). AFFIRMED.
