No. 87-2155.

MEMORANDUM*

The panel unanimously agrees that this case may be submitted without oral argument.

We affirm the district court's grant of summary judgment in favor of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The FBI's affidavits demonstrated that it conducted an adequate search of its records in response to Mahdavi's request. See Zemansky v. EPA, 767 F.2d 569 (9th Cir. 1985). The FBI was under no obligation to disclose confidential sources, 5 U.S.C.A. Sec. 552(b) (7) (D) (Supp.1988), quoted in FBI v. Abramson, 456 U.S. 615, 622 (1982), nor was the Bureau required to invade the personal privacy of its clerks by disclosing their identities. 5 U.S.C.A. Sec. 552(b) (7) (C) (Supp.1988); Castaneda v. United States, 757 F.2d 1010, 1012 (9th Cir.), amended on other grounds, 773 F.2d 251 (9th Cir. 1985). The FBI also carried its burden of establishing that the information that it received from sources reporting on a regular basis was exempt from disclosure. See 5 U.S.C.A. Sec. 552(b) (7) (D); Lewis v. IRS, 823 F.2d 375, 378 (9th Cir. 1987).

AFFIRMED.
