Section 2 - Qualifications of governor and lieutenant-governor

Universal Citation: NY Const art IV § 2

No person shall be eligible to the office of governor or lieutenant-governor, except a citizen of the United States, of the age of not less than thirty years, and who shall have been five years next preceding the election a resident of this state. (Amended by vote of the people November 6, 2001.)
