(1) In this section:292.79(1)(a)
(a) "Brownfields" has the meaning given in s. 560.13 (1) (a).292.79(1)(b)
(b) "Local governmental units" has the meaning given in s. 292.75 (1) (b).292.79(2)
(2) The department shall administer a program under which the department awards grants to local governmental units for projects to remedy environmental contamination of brownfields. A project is eligible for a grant under this section if it has a long-term public benefit, including the preservation of green space, the development of recreational areas, or the use of a property by the local government.292.79 - ANNOT.
