§ 65.2-1305. Peer review program
The Statewide Coordinating Committee shall develop a peer review program for services rendered by physicians that are paid for in whole or in part pursuant to this title. The peer review program shall provide for peer review of services rendered by physicians. Each regional peer review committee shall have the responsibility for implementing the peer review program in its health systems area. Referrals may be made to the regional peer review committee pursuant to the utilization review program by the Commission, a treating physician or any insurance company providing coverage for the cost of any services paid for in whole or in part pursuant to this chapter or any employer.
