Title 45.1 - Mines and Mining
§ 45.1-179.6. Duties and responsibilities of Department
The Department shall have and is hereby given jurisdiction and authority over all persons and property, public and private, necessary to enforce the provisions of this chapter and shall have the power and authority to make and enforce rules, regulations, and orders and do whatever may reasonably be necessary to carry out the provisions of this chapter. Any such rules and regulations adopted by the Department pursuant to the provisions of this chapter shall be promulgated in compliance with the provisions of the Administrative Process Act (Chapter 40 of Title 2.2, ยง 2.2-4000 et seq.).
