§ 33.1-205. (Repealed effective October 1, 2014) Sidewalks and walkways for pedestrian traffic


VA Code § 33.1-205 (2014) What's This?

The Commonwealth Transportation Board may construct such sidewalks or walkways on the bridges and along the highways under its jurisdiction as it deems necessary for the protection of pedestrian traffic.

All the provisions of general law with respect to the acquisition of lands and interests therein and the construction, reconstruction, alteration, improvement and maintenance of highways in the primary and secondary systems of state highways, including the exercise of the power of eminent domain by the Commonwealth Transportation Board and the Commissioner of Highways, shall be applicable to such sidewalks and walkways.
