§ 33.1-175. (Repealed effective October 1, 2014) New road part of secondary system; former road to vest in municipality


VA Code § 33.1-175 (2014) What's This?

When the city or town shall have been notified by the Commissioner of Highways of final approval of the construction of the road or highway, the same shall immediately become a part of the secondary system of state highways and the public shall be vested with the same rights of travel thereover as it possesses with respect to the other highways in the system. And thereupon the part of the road or highway which it is proposed to flood shall be deemed to be abandoned and all public rights therein shall vest in the city or town.
