28.2-304 - Taking, possessing, etc., channel bass; confiscation of such fish illegally taken; penalty.
§ 28.2-304. Taking, possessing, etc., channel bass; confiscation of such fish illegally taken; penalty.
A. Except as otherwise provided by regulation, it shall be unlawful for any person to take, catch, possess, offer for sale or transport during any one day more than two channel bass (red drum) over thirty-two inches long from tip of nose to tip of tail.
Any person taking or catching more than two such channel bass shall immediately release such fish into the water at the place where the fish were taken or caught.
B. Any officer who finds more than two channel bass over the legal maximum size in the possession of any person shall immediately confiscate such fish.
C. A violation of any provision of subsection A is a Class 1 misdemeanor.
