63.2-1528. Advisory Committee continued as Advisory Board.

The Advisory Committee on Child Abuse and Neglect is continued and shallhereafter be known as the Advisory Board on Child Abuse and Neglect. TheAdvisory Board shall be composed of nine persons appointed by the Governorfor three-year staggered terms, and permanent members including theSuperintendent of Public Instruction, the Commissioner of the Department ofHealth, the Commissioner of the Department of Mental Health, MentalRetardation and Substance Abuse Services, the Commissioner of the Departmentof Social Services, the Director of the Department of Juvenile Justice, theDirector of the Department of Corrections, the Director of the Department ofCriminal Justice Services, and the Attorney General of Virginia, or theirdesignees. The Advisory Board shall meet quarterly and, as the need mayarise, advise the Department, Board and Governor on matters concerningprograms for the prevention and treatment of abused and neglected childrenand their families and child abuse and neglect issues identified by theCommissioner of the Department of Social Services.
