2006 Code of Virginia § 52-2 - Appointment of Superintendent and term of office

52-2. Appointment of Superintendent and term of office.

The Superintendent of State Police shall be appointed by the Governor,subject to confirmation by the General Assembly if in session when suchappointment is made, and if not in session, then at its next succeedingsession. Such officer shall hold his office at the pleasure of the Governorfor a term coincident with that of each Governor making the appointment, oruntil his successor shall be appointed and qualified. Vacancies shall befilled for the unexpired term in the same manner as original appointments aremade.
