46.2-1993.53. Removal of plates by Department of Motor Vehiclesinvestigators; cancellation; reissuance.

If any Department of Motor Vehicles investigator finds that a vehicle bearinglicense plates or temporary transport plates issued under this article isbeing operated in a manner inconsistent with (i) the requirements of thisarticle or (ii) the Commissioner's authorization provided for in thisarticle, the Department of Motor Vehicles investigator may remove the licenseplate for cancellation. Once a license plate has been canceled, thedealership may reapply for the license plate. Reissuance of the license plateshall be subject to the approval of the Commissioner and the payment of thefee prescribed for issuance of license plates under this article.
