46.2-1962. Removal of plates by Department investigators; cancellation;reissuance.

If any Department investigator finds that a vehicle bearing license plates ortemporary transport plates issued under this article is being operated in amanner inconsistent with (i) the requirements of this article or (ii) theCommissioner's authorization provided for in this article, the Department ofMotor Vehicles investigator may remove the license plate for cancellation.Once a license plate has been cancelled, the dealership may reapply for thelicense plate. Reissuance of the license plate shall be subject to theapproval of the Commissioner and the payment of the fee prescribed forissuance of license plates under this article.
