§ 1. Definitions

  • As used in this chapter, unless otherwise provided or the context requires a different construction, application or meaning—
    • “Authority” means the Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority; “homestead” means a plot or plots of land improved by the building of a house or houses thereon and the production thereon of livestock, agricultural or dairy products, or by the production thereon of livestock, or agricultural or dairy products alone; or a plot or plots of land for the building of a private home or homes; “resident family” is defined to mean a family who has been domiciled in the Virgin Islands for at least one year immediately prior to application for homestead land. “Zoning Administrator” means the Zoning Administrator as defined in title 29 Virgin Islands Code, section 235(a).
