§ 44. Leaves of absence for study; compensation; limitations

(a) The President of the Legislature may grant study leave to administrative personnel and employees of the Office of the Legislature for the purpose of pursuing advanced training courses in programs within or outside the Virgin Islands.
(b) Any administrative personnel or employee who is granted leave under this section shall be granted all of his monthly salary, which shall be subject to the necessary and required payroll deductions, and may be granted an allowance for tuition, books and one round trip ticket for travel from the Virgin Islands and return during the year. No such leave with pay may exceed two years in duration.
