Chapter 1 - Social Welfare Generally
§ 29. Food Stamp Welfare Fund

  • (a) There is hereby created and established a special revolving fund to be designated and referred to as the Food Stamp Welfare Fund. The Commissioner of Finance shall maintain and provide for the administration of said fund as a separate and distinct fund in the Treasury and no monies shall in the Treasury and no monies shall be available from said fund except as provided by law.

  • (b) The Food Stamp Welfare Fund shall consist of all monies appropriated by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands and all monies from any other source including grants from the Federal Government and from any public or private sources, intended to provide for the costs of administering the Welfare Food Stamp Program in the Virgin Islands. Money shall be disbursed from the fund by the Commissioner of Finance, upon authorization of the Commissioner of Human Services , for the purpose of defraying administrative expenses of the Welfare Food Stamp Program in the Virgin Islands.
