§ 98. Meetings of Board; quorum; procedure

  • (a) The Virgin Islands Board of Education shall fix the dates for its regular meetings which shall be held at least once every two months. The Board shall hold special meetings as may be required. All regular meetings of the Board shall be open to the public. The Chairman shall call a special meeting upon the written request of three members, or upon the written request of the Commissioner, and the Chairman may call such a meeting on his own motion.

  • (b) The business which the Board is authorized to transact shall be done at regular or special meetings at which not less than five members are present, and no act shall be valid unless voted for by an affirmative vote of a majority of the members present, and a true record made of such votes.

  • (c) The Board shall adopt rules and regulations for the conduct of its proceedings. It shall keep a record book of its meetings. The minutes of all meetings shall be certified by the Secretary.

  • (d) Any measure adopted or any decision reached by the Board shall be set forth in writing as an order of the Board. Each order shall be transmitted by the Chairman to the Commissioner for his guidance and distribution to interested parties.
