Chapter 17 - Barbers, Beauticians and Manicurists
§ 457. Barbershops and beauty shops; qualifications and requirements; sanitation and inspection

  • (a) No person may be licensed to operate a barbershop or a beauty shop unless such person submits proof satisfactory to the Board that such person—

    • (1) is at least twenty-one (21) years of age;

    • (2) is of good moral character; and

    • (3) has been a resident of the Virgin Islands for at least twelve consecutive months immediately prior to application.

  • (b) Every barbershop and beauty shop shall meet and be maintained and operated in accordance with reasonable requirements established by the Board in rules and regulations, and every licensee and every person employed or engaged in any such shop shall comply with the provisions of such requirements.
