§ 82. Full Employment Administration

There is hereby created within the Office of the Governor an independent agency of the Government of the Virgin Islands to be designated as the “Virgin Islands Full Employment Administration”. The powers of the Administration shall be vested in and exercised by the Governor. The administrative functions of the Administration shall be carried out by the Administrator, who shall be appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Legislature, for a term of four years and until his successor is appointed and qualified. The Administrator shall receive an annual salary of $16,000. Additional personnel may be employed by the Administrator subject to the provisions of chapter 25 of Title 3 of this Code. The Administration may also retain the services of additional personnel, including professional and technical services, on a contract basis.
