Chapter 19 - Youth Transitional Employment Program
§ 615. Youth Transitional Employment Program

  • (a)

    • (1) The Commissioner may make agreements with local agencies, organizations and private businesses for participation in the Youth Transitional Employment Program. The Youth Transitional Program shall be designed and administered so as to provide enrollees with vocational training and work experience.

    • (2) Each participating agency, organization or private business shall provide to each enrollee a well-organized and fully supervised program of vocational training, and work experience. To the fullest extent feasible, each participating agency, organization or private business shall include activities to assist the enrollee in planning and managing their work in a manner that will best contribute to long-term upward mobility either in the agency, organization or private business, or elsewhere.

    • (3) The Commissioner shall arrange programs designed to provide enrollees with education, vocational training, work experience, job search counseling and other services which, in the determination of the Commissioner, will further the objectives of the program.

  • (b) The Commissioner may arrange for enrollee education and vocational training through local educational facilities, agencies, organizations or private business.
