Chapter 3 - Insurance Commissioner
§ 58. Interstate cooperation

  • (a) The Commissioner shall to the extent he deems useful for the proper discharge of his responsibilities under the provisions of this title—

    • (1) consult and cooperate with the public officials having supervision over insurance in the states of the United States;

    • (2) share jointly with states in the employment of actuaries, statisticians, and other insurance technicians whose services or the products thereof are made available and are useful to the participating states and to the Commissioner.

    • (3) share jointly with states in establishing and maintaining offices and clerical facilities for purposes useful to the participating states and to the Commissioner.

  • (b) All arrangements made jointly with states under items (2) and (3) of subsection (a) of this section shall be in writing executed on behalf of this territory by the Commissioner. Any such arrangement, as to participation of this territory therein, shall be subject to termination by the Commissioner at any time upon reasonable notice.

  • (c) For the purposes of this title “National Association of Insurance Commissioners” means that voluntary organization of the states, districts, and territories of the United States, whatever other name such organization may hereafter adopt, and in the affairs of which each of such public officials is entitled to participate subject to the constitution and bylaws of such organization.
