Chapter 17 - Private, Parochial and Denominational Schools
§ 191. Subsidies for private schools

  • (a) Subsidies from Government funds available for such purpose may be granted to schools other than public schools, for strictly educational purposes, by the Virgin Islands Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Commissioner of Education. However, no subsidy or financial help shall be given by the Government to denominational or sectarian schools or institutions.

  • (b) Subsidies may be withdrawn at any time by the Board upon the recommendation of the Commissioner.
