Chapter 25 - Motor Vehicle Information Disclosure
§ 1302. Information disclosure

  • (a) Every dealer of new motor vehicles sold or distributed in the United States Virgin Islands shall securely affix to the windshield or in any other visible place on each new motor vehicle a label on which such dealer shall endorse clearly, distinctly and legibly true and correct entries disclosing the following information concerning each new motor vehicle—

    • (1) Name of the dealer, location of place of business, and the date on which the motor vehicle entered the United States Virgin Islands;

    • (2) The make, model, and serial or identification number or numbers of the motor vehicle;

    • (3) The retail price of such motor vehicles suggested by the manufacturer, assembler, or exporter;

    • (4) The retail delivered price suggested by the manufacturer, assembler, or importer for each accessory or item of optional equipment physically attached to such motor vehicle at the time of its delivery to the dealer, which is not included within the price of such motor vehicle as stated pursuant to subparagraph (3);

    • (5) Ocean freight and any other transportation charges to the dealer;

    • (6) Preparation and conditioning charges on the motor vehicle;

    • (7) The amount of taxes paid by or to be collected by the dealer;

    • (8) The total of the amounts specified pursuant to subparagraphs (3) through (7);

    • (9) The amount that the ultimate purchaser will be required to pay in user taxes.
