§ 13. Repeal of ordinances by referendum

All Town ordinances, except those specified in section 16 of this charter, may be repealed by vote of the Town if a petition signed by not less than 15 percent of the registered voters, specifying the particular ordinance on which the vote is requested, is filed with the Town Clerk. The Selectboard shall call a special Town meeting to be held within 60 days after the date the petition is filed to vote on whether the ordinance shall be repealed. The ordinance subject to the vote shall be repealed if at least 15 percent of the Town’s registered voters vote on the question to repeal the ordinance and a majority of those voting vote to repeal the ordinance.
