§ 577. Appeal; bond

An appeal shall not be allowed to the claimant from the judgment of the court until he or she gives security by way of recognizance to the state, with sufficient sureties, in such sum as the court directs, conditioned that he or she will prosecute his or her appeal to effect and pay the costs awarded against him or her.
