§ 702 Enactment procedure and effective date
5-702. Enactment procedure and effective date
No proposed bylaw, regulation, or ordinance shall be effective upon its passage at the time of its introduction but the same shall be laid upon the table at least until the next regular meeting of the City Council. Such bylaw, regulation, or ordinance shall be forthwith published by title only in some newspaper of general circulation in said City, together with a notice that the City Council is to consider the same at its next regular meeting, and a copy thereof shall be conspicuously posted in the City Clerk's office. At least six days before its effective date, such bylaw, regulation, or ordinance shall be published at least once in some newspaper of general circulation in said City.
