§ 602 Election of Board officials
5-602. Election of Board officials
The Board of School Commissioners shall annually, not later than the second Wednesday after the first Tuesday in May, elect one of their number Chairman of said Board, one of their number Vice/Chairman, one of their number Secretary of said Board, and one of their number Treasurer of said Board. The Board shall require its Treasurer and other commissioners it deems necessary to give bond to the City to the satisfaction of the Board for faithful discharge of their trust. If the Board shall require a bond with a fidelity company as surety, the expense thereof shall be paid from the School Fund. The Board may, by agreement with the City Council, provide that its Treasurer be covered under a blanket bond to be contracted as authorized by section 9 of subchapter 9. In such event, an equitable proportion of the cost of such blanket bond shall be paid out of the School Fund.
