5-404. Duties of the Mayor

The Mayor shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the City subject to the operation of the provisions herein contained respecting a City Manager. The Mayor shall use the Mayor's best efforts to see that the laws and the City ordinances are enforced and that the duties of all subordinate officers are faithfully performed. The Mayor shall take care that the finances of the City are properly managed and shall bring before the City Council whatever the Mayor may deem worthy of their attention for prudentially and efficiently carrying on the affairs of the City.
