[Section 207 repealed effective June 30, 2014.] 257-207. Method of voting

(a) At Village meetings, the election of officers and other business shall be by viva voce, except when a viva voce vote declared by the Moderator is immediately questioned by 10 legal voters present who request a ballot, a ballot vote shall be held; and except when a ballot is called for by at least 10 legal voters present prior to the vote on a question; and except if the Australian ballot system is called for as provided by law.

(b) If ballot is used, the Moderator shall appoint election officials from among the members of the Town Board of Civil Authority residing in the Village, to supervise the election.

(c) There shall be one ballot box for receiving votes, except when election is by wards there shall be as many sets of ballot boxes as there shall be wards in the Village.

(d) The procedure herein provided shall apply to all annual and special meetings unless another procedure is required by a particular statute of this State.
