2651. When minor refuses to choose

When a guardian is required by law to be appointed for a minor over 14 years of age and such minor does not seasonably notify the court of his or her choice, such court shall issue a citation requiring him or her to choose a guardian and give notice thereof to the court. If the minor fails to do so, or chooses a person not approved by the court, it may appoint a guardian.
