228. Dining cars and boats; first or third class license; purchase of liquors outside state; promotional railroad tasting permit

(a) The liquor control board may grant to a person that operates a boat or dining car engaged in interstate commerce a license of the first class or third class upon the application and payment of the license fee as provided in section 231 of this title. A person that operates a dining car or boat engaged in interstate commerce may procure spirituous liquors outside the state of Vermont.

(b) The liquor control board may grant to a person that operates a railroad a tasting permit that permits the holder to conduct tastings of Vermont-produced alcoholic beverages in the dining car, provided the person files with the department an application along with the permit fee required pursuant to subdivision 231(a)(21) of this title.
