§ 1862. Parking meters

A municipality when authorized by a majority of the voters voting at a regular or special meeting duly warned and held for that purpose, in the due exercise of its police power, through its legislative body for the reasonable regulation of highway traffic, may purchase, lease, install, operate, maintain and regulate the use of coin operated parking meters upon its streets and highways and in public parking lots provided therefor.
