§ 7011. Purpose

The purpose of mediation prior to filing a medical malpractice case is to identify and resolve meritorious claims and reduce areas of dispute prior to litigation, which will reduce the litigation costs, reduce the time necessary to resolve claims, provide fair compensation for meritorious claims, and reduce malpractice-related costs throughout the system. (Added 2011, No. 171 (Adj. Sess.), § 24c, eff. Feb. 1, 2013.)
