§ 4904. Use of light, snares, traps

A person shall not take a bird with the aid of a jack or other light. A person shall not take a wild bird by trapping, netting, or snaring, or possess such a bird so taken, or set, place, or use, where birds may be taken, a net, trap, or snare for taking birds. Such a net, trap, or snare is hereby declared to be a public nuisance and may be summarily abated and destroyed by any person, and game wardens shall seize and destroy such devices. The commissioner, however, may authorize the taking of birds by nets or traps or other devices, under such regulations as he or she may prescribe. (Added 1961, No. 119, § 1, eff. May 9, 1961.)
