§ 3071 Property rights
§ 3071. Property rights
Fur-bearing animals, wild by nature, which have been brought into and kept in captivity and the increase of the same so kept upon any farm or ranch for the purpose of propagating the same for the production of fur or breeding stock, shall be known as domestic fur-bearing animals. The owner of such animals shall enjoy the same property rights and be subject to the same obligations as to such animals as are provided by law as to other animals commonly classed as domestic animals. The provisions of 10 V.S.A. §§ 5207 to 5209 shall not apply to such domestic fur-bearing animals, which shall be under the exclusive control and supervision of the secretary of agriculture, food and markets.
