§ 736 Lost records or judgment files-Recording of copy
§ 736. Lost records or judgment files-Recording of copy
When the records or judgment files of, or instruments in writing filed in, a court of record are lost, destroyed or defaced, upon petition and proof, giving reasonable notice by publication or otherwise to parties interested, such court may order a copy thereof to be recorded by the clerk or register of the court. Such record and copies thereof shall have the same validity and may be used in evidence in the same manner as the original record or file.
