§ 5-1001. Appointment, eligibility, and qualifications
The city manager shall be chosen and appointed by majority vote of the city council for an indefinite term, solely on the basis of the city manager's professional qualifications, and need not be a resident of the City of Montpelier or the State of Vermont at the time of appointment, but shall be expected to reside in the city during the city manager's tenure of office.
