CHAPTER 257. VILLAGE OF NORTHFIELD

Subchapter VI. Financial Provisions

§ 257-606. Grand list; taxes; collection

The grand list of the town of Northfield composed of the polls and taxable property or estate within the limits of the Village shall constitute the grand list of the Village. The Village may, at an annual or special meeting, duly warned for that purpose, vote to lay and assess a tax on its grand list for Village purposes, and all taxes so voted, laid or assessed, including all highway taxes, shall be paid and collected in the same manner as is provided by law for the payment and collection of town taxes, and the Trustees, treasurer, and collector of the Village shall perform the same duties and have the same authority in respect thereto as is provided by law for selectmen, treasurer, and collector of taxes in towns.
