§ 235-42. Board investigations

Said board, or a majority thereof, upon application of any citizen shall forthwith examine into nuisances, sources of filth and causes of sickness in said village, and make such order to destroy, remove, or prevent the same, as the case may require, and when found on private property shall in writing order the owner or occupant thereof, at his own expense, to remove the same, and if such owner or occupant does not remove the same within twenty-four hours after being ordered, he shall be fined not more than twenty dollars.
