§ 107-3.3. Reconsideration

(a) The voters of the town may petition for reconsideration by the town meeting of ordinances adopted by the selectboard.

(1) The selectboard, upon receipt of a petition signed by at least 20 percent of the voters of the town, shall place the language of the petition for reconsideration on the warning for the town meeting or shall call a special town meeting for the purpose of reconsideration.

(2) If the date of the next town meeting falls within 60 days after receipt of the petition, and if the petition is presented within sufficient time to be legally warned for the meeting, it shall be included as an article on the warning for that meeting. Otherwise, a special town or town school district meeting shall be called within 60 days after receipt of the petition.

(b) A petition for reconsideration must be filed within 15 calendar days after the action to be reconsidered.
